Organizational Leadership

Earn an online Organizational Leadership degree at APU Global. Choose a BA or MA built to prepare you for management roles, promotion, and team leadership.

Overview

Leadership is a practiced discipline, not a personality type. APU Global's online organizational leadership programs teach the research behind motivation, culture, change, and organizational design, then ask you to apply it inside a current or prior organization you worked in. Every course is fully online and asynchronous, delivered in eight-week terms with six start dates a year.

Both pathways are built for adults with work experience: eight-week courses, six start dates a year, and faculty who lead real organizations bring the coursework straight back to your current role.

What to know

What to expect from a degree in organizational leadership at APU Global

What you will study

Coursework spans organizational behavior, team dynamics, conflict resolution, ethical decision-making, change management, and communication. Assignments are applied: you analyze real organizational problems rather than abstract cases, which means the work you submit often becomes work you use.

Careers our graduates pursue

Graduates move into supervision and department management, operations, human resources and talent development, nonprofit and ministry leadership, program management, and consulting. Many use the degree to formalize responsibilities they are already carrying.

How students use the degree at work

Because assignments are applied, most students bring coursework straight into their jobs. A change-management course becomes the framework for a departmental reorganization; a conflict-resolution unit reshapes how a supervisor runs one-on-ones. That immediacy is the reason many employers reimburse the program, the return shows up before graduation.

Advisors evaluate transcripts, military training, and professional certifications before you enroll, so you know exactly how long the degree will take and what it will cost. Many students enter with substantial transfer credit or credits awarded through prior learning assessment.
