The transition to the APU Global name began immediately and continues through 2026. You will gradually see changes across the website, the mobile app, and the learning management system. More precise timelines for key milestones are communicated as they are established.

APU Global signals national reach tailored to career-oriented and adult learners who are geographically dispersed. Other institutions have taken the same approach, including Purdue Global, UMass Global, and the University of Arizona Global Campus.

Yes. As independent institutions, APU and APU Global maintain separate digital footprints, cross-linked so students can easily find the modality that best meets their needs.

Azusa Pacific University programs are exclusively on campus or hybrid, meaning campus programs with an online component. APU Global programs are fully online, with 8-week courses and multiple start dates each year.

In terms of your learning experience, nothing. This is primarily a name change. You log into classes the same way, take the same courses with the same faculty, and work with the same success coaches and support staff. You will see ongoing changes to the name and visual identity, and any change such as a new email address will be communicated with plenty of notice and instructions.

No. Degree requirements remain the same and are based on the catalog in effect when you began your program.

Current students who graduate after the transition may choose a diploma from either the former name or APU Global. Students who start and finish at APU Global receive an APU Global diploma.

No. There are no tuition changes resulting from this partnership. Current rates are published on the Tuition and Aid page.

No. If you wish to attend Azusa Pacific University on campus or in a hybrid format, you will need to withdraw from APU Global and apply to APU.

Yes. All learning and support resources continue, including TimelyCare and academic support.

No. The school code does not change. Some official sites may still display the former university name until all system changes are complete, but it is the same school code and the same university.

We are designing the new APU Global transcript template, which will become the single official transcript for all students. To maintain accurate historical records, the transcript key and legend include our full institutional name history, and individual semesters carry a designation showing the institution's name at the time those credits were earned.

Best practice is to list the current name of the institution first, with the former name in parentheses. This format prevents applicant tracking systems from rejecting your education field and gives employers a clear path for background checks. For example: Azusa Pacific University Global (formerly Los Angeles Pacific University), Glendora, CA, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, graduation year.

Once the name transition is complete, the university LinkedIn page reflects the APU Global name and branding wherever it has been selected. In the description of your Education section, you can clarify the name change. For example: Attended from 2018 to 2022. The institution was renamed Azusa Pacific University Global in 2026.

At this time, replacement diploma requests are fulfilled with the name of the institution at the time your degree was conferred. APU Global replacement diplomas may become available to alumni in the future. The earliest this option would be available is the 2026-27 academic year, which begins with Fall Session 1 in September 2026.

Yes. APU Global merchandise will be available in the updated APU Global store on our website.

Alumni of the former name and future APU Global alumni automatically become members of the APU Global Alumni Association, which remains focused on supporting our global alumni network.

Alumni receive benefits through the APU Global Alumni Association specifically. At this time, that does not include discounts or benefits from the Azusa Pacific University campus.

All alumni maintain access to a university Google account as a continued benefit and a FERPA-compliant way to communicate with the institution. Once the new APU Global domain is live, we begin a transition period converting existing Google accounts to APU Global accounts. During that period both accounts function, one primary and one secondary. Additional instructions for keeping access will be shared as the process moves forward.
