"I originally only planned to finish my bachelor's and then go straight back into the workforce. But two and a half years later, I'm now about to begin a PsyD in Clinical Psychology."
Chris earned both his bachelor's and master's at APU Global. Here is his experience, in his own words.
Faculty who changed the trajectory
"Reach out to your professors. We don't always get the depth of interaction in an online program, but they have real experience. Three professors in particular completely changed the trajectory of my journey. They sparked interests I didn't know I had, supported my ideas, and became incredible advocates for me."
A path that wasn't straight
"This was anything but a straight path for me. For a long time, I felt God calling me back to school, but I kept resisting. Once I finally stopped resisting and fully surrendered to the process, everything started opening up one step at a time."
Support and community
"Build relationships with your success coaches and fellow students. These connections are invaluable. The support you can't get from family and friends who haven't been through this program can often be found right here."
His advice
"The key is persistence, so keep showing up, keep putting in the effort even when it's hard, and don't give up on yourself. Keep your head up, keep going, keep trying, because you can do this, even when it's difficult."
